About the position

The Group Manager Logistics I at Ryder is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business while ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing feedback, and developing direct and indirect reports, all within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Set goals and conduct performance evaluations for employees.
• Provide ongoing feedback and conduct disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Develop direct and indirect reports and maintain corrective staffing levels.
• Create and maintain location processes and ensure staff training in Transportation/Distribution Management.
• Resolve customer satisfaction issues and review KPI tracking for improvement.
• Conduct self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.
• Perform SOX invoice reconciliation and revenue recognition preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or two additional years of relevant work experience required.
• Five years or more of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management required.
• Five years or more managing large multi-level teams required.
• Three years or more demonstrated experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated project management and facilitation skills required.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Five years or more managing, leading, and developing direct reports preferred.
• Experience in a LEAN work environment preferred.
• Some sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of truck brokerage preferred.
