About the position

The Group Manager, Digital Product Management at Petco is responsible for supervising a team of product managers who drive the vision and execution of digital products. This role involves developing long-term product plans, studying end-user needs, defining product features, and coordinating activities across teams to meet quality standards and business objectives. The manager will also oversee the gathering of requirements, conduct competitive analyses, and utilize product discovery techniques to prioritize features.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of product managers engaged in driving the vision and execution of digital products.
• Lead the study of end-user needs and definition of product features.
• Coordinate activities across teams to meet quality standards, project deadlines, and business objectives.
• Gather and write requirements for application features that require cross-team coordination.
• Conduct competitive analyses and use product discovery techniques to prioritize features.
• Develop long-term product plans (roadmaps) for digital products.
• Review reports on product utilization and identify market trends and opportunities.
• Prepare project reports for management and clients.
• Provide technical advice and resolve problems as needed.
• Supervise assigned staff, including hiring, counseling, guiding, training, and disciplinary processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, marketing, business administration or related field.
• 10 years of experience as a Product Manager or similar role in an Agile, Scrum, Kanban environment.
• Strong customer-facing digital subject matter expertise with experience on medium complexity features or entire software applications.
• 2 years of people management experience.
