About the position

The Group Product Innovation Manager at Nucor Steel Auburn, Inc. is responsible for leading the product group to develop innovative products and services that meet builder and market needs. This role focuses on enhancing the business health and profitability of the Buildings Group by investigating and launching new building components, establishing processes for collaboration across product groups, and ensuring a seamless transition from new to existing products. The manager will also oversee software and development contractors, maintain performance metrics, and foster a culture of inclusivity and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product group to develop future products and services.
  • Investigate state-of-the-art software platforms for deployment to the builder network.
  • Develop and launch new building components that meet customer needs.
  • Establish processes and relationships with all Nucor product groups.
  • Source and oversee software and development contractors for product development.
  • Improve collaboration and processes with other Nucor product groups.
  • Provide routine updates to teammates and customers on development progress.
  • Establish and publish metrics to measure team performance.
  • Work closely with the Reliability Manager to ensure smooth transitions of products/services.
  • Review teammate performance and identify coaching needs.
  • Create a culture of inclusivity and foster innovation and results.
  • Determine staffing and contractor needs, including hiring and accountability.

Requirements

  • 3 years prior leadership experience including overseeing direct reports.
  • 3 years of metal building experience or formal education in software development or engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
