About the position

At Google, we prioritize our users and their needs. As a Group Product Manager for Regional Cloud Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in shaping products that impact millions of users daily. This position requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of technology and product management. You will be responsible for guiding products from conception to launch, bridging the gap between technical and business realms. Your ability to deconstruct complex problems into actionable steps will be crucial in driving product development forward. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to design and develop innovative technologies that enhance access to information. Your responsibilities will include analyzing market needs, positioning products effectively, and tailoring solutions to meet user requirements. You will be part of the Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), which aims to provide customers with trusted cloud infrastructure and solutions powered by AI. Your work will directly contribute to helping organizations digitally transform their operations and leverage cutting-edge technology to solve critical business challenges. As part of your role, you will also need to stay informed about competitors and their strategies, ensuring that Google Cloud remains competitive in the infrastructure space. You will represent product requirements to cross-functional executives, achieving alignment among decision-makers and guiding infrastructure needs from identification through deployment and maintenance. This position is integral to the success of GCP's infrastructure products, including capacity planning, cloud regions, data centers, and network services, as well as incorporating machine learning and AI into our offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customers, their requirements, regulations, and translate opportunities into infrastructure needs.
  • Understand competitors and their strategic and tactical moves, ensuring Google Cloud is up to date on all infrastructure needs.
  • Represent product requirements to cross-functional executives, achieving alignment across decision makers.
  • Work with partner Product, Engineering, and Field teams to guide infrastructure needs from identification through to deployment and infrastructure health.
  • Cover GCP's infrastructure products including long-term capacity, pre-positioning, cloud regions, zones, data centers, network, power, edge, Machine Learning/AI, and services.
  • Represent infrastructure architectures, requirements, and pros/cons to customers, and support customer agreement engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience with cloud data center infrastructure including power, network, cooling, zonal architecture, SLA/SLOs for cloud regions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 7 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 5 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of building accessibility best practices, and experience incorporating inclusion and accessibility into product development methodologies.
