About the position

The Group Risk Specialist role focuses on Operational Risk Management (ORM) within Treasury and Finance at TD Bank. This position provides a comprehensive range of risk management expertise to business leaders, leading the implementation of risk frameworks and management activities to mitigate enterprise-wide risk exposures. The role requires substantial knowledge in risk management and involves managing complex programs, solving intricate problems, and influencing senior stakeholders to align with best practices and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the implementation of risk frameworks and management activities.
  • Provide oversight, commentary, and recommendations based on overall strategy and industry best practices.
  • Analyze potential risks and ensure escalation of key risks to appropriate areas.
  • Establish and provide ongoing analysis and reporting on operational risk.
  • Coordinate activities relating to core operational risk disciplines/programs.
  • Direct the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators.
  • Manage relationships within and across various business lines to ensure alignment with enterprise requirements.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects and support the development of presentations to management.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Skill in mentoring and coaching.
  • Advanced skill in using analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Treasury Operational experience including Liquidity and Investments.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Service products, credit and risk processes.
