About the position

The Group Risk Specialist role focuses on Operational Risk Management (ORM) within Treasury and Finance at TD Bank. This position provides a comprehensive range of risk management expertise to business leaders, leading the implementation of risk frameworks and management activities to mitigate enterprise-wide risk exposures. The specialist will work autonomously, manage complex programs, and influence senior stakeholders while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide risk management expertise to business leaders and support the implementation of risk frameworks.
  • Lead cross-functional teams or projects with significant resource requirements and complexity.
  • Independently manage end-to-end functional programs and solve complex problems.
  • Analyze potential risks and ensure escalation of key risks to appropriate areas.
  • Establish and provide ongoing analysis and reporting on operational risk within the business.
  • Coordinate activities related to core operational risk disciplines and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators and facilitate communication of risk issues.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects and support the development of presentations to management.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation.
  • Ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities.
  • Advanced skill in using analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Treasury Operational experience including Liquidity and Investments.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Service products, credit and risk processes.
