About the position

The Group Sales Manager at Tribute by Marriott will play a crucial role in the opening of a new hotel in Cincinnati, OH. This position involves developing and maintaining relationships with local corporate groups and accounts to drive group business into the hotel. The manager will also be responsible for implementing marketing strategies, attending local events, and ensuring effective communication with hotel management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop, solicit, and maintain accounts in assigned market segments to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
• Manage all aspects of the Sales department in accordance with hotel standards.
• Establish special packages or programs to boost occupancy during slow periods.
• Create advertising through various channels to support sales programs.
• Attend trade shows and local events to promote hotel sales.
• Ensure compliance with daily operational procedures by the Sales department.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with all hotel policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years progressive experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Understanding of Cincinnati Group Business Market.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school graduate or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or business preferred.
• Familiarity with the local economy and market conditions.
• Working knowledge of hotel operations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of organizing set up requirements from information on B.E.O.'s.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.
