About the position

The Group Sales Manager at Ocean House Collection is responsible for prospecting, managing, and developing key accounts within a designated sales territory. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships to achieve sales objectives while ensuring proper service delivery. The position requires proactive solicitation of sales opportunities and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to maximize revenue potential.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
  • Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
  • Provides accurate, complete, and effective turnover to Event Management.
  • Researches and develops new leads for property business.
  • Participates in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue potential.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Prepares proposals and contracts for group bookings.
  • Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
  • Understands the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand.
  • Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
  • Gains understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations.
  • Practices, manages, and promotes the Company's Statement of Purpose, Service Excellence Pillars, and Declarations.
  • Represents the Company with a positive attitude and professional presentation.
  • Follows sustainability guidelines and practices related to the Company's sustainability programs.

Requirements

  • College degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years luxury sales experience and 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Prior luxury hotel or hospitality experience is required.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors.
  • Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Ability to access, understand, and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, requiring high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Travel domestically to attend industry-related trade shows is required.
  • Fluency in both written and oral English is required.
  • Strong focus on numbers/analytic ability.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
