About the position

Meta is seeking a Group Technical Program Manager (GTPM) to lead the transformation of its cloud-scale infrastructure. This role involves managing a team of technical program managers (TPMs) to streamline the developer experience and support the company's extensive web and AI workloads. The GTPM will work closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to identify technical challenges, create roadmaps, and drive programs to completion, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of strong technical program managers (TPMs) capable of scaling with Meta through rapid infrastructure growth.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the existing technical program management teams while fostering a strong, healthy, and productive team culture.
  • Forge strong partnerships with technical and business leaders across the company, ensuring that team resource investments align with company priorities.
  • Proactively identify and analyze complex, long-term, critical infrastructure challenges with engineering leaders and stakeholders.
  • Develop a long-term vision along with a near-term execution plan.
  • Structure and optimize the organization for effective execution, including attracting top-tier talent and swiftly filling gaps in the existing team to facilitate growth.
  • Build and lead an organization centered on customer focus and effective communication, emphasizing decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive conflict resolution, and a 'no barriers' mentality.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.
  • 7+ years of people management experience leading teams to deliver technical programs or products from inception to delivery.
  • Experience in organizational coordination and establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and partners in different time zones.
  • Experience in analytical thinking and problem-solving with large-scale systems, proven track record in delivering technology programs or products from inception to delivery, and expertise in understanding user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
