About the position

The Groups Ministry Assistant at Shades Mountain Baptist Church is a part-time, non-exempt role focused on supporting the Groups Minister with various administrative tasks related to the Groups Ministry. This position involves communication, organization, logistics, financial processes, and event planning, all aimed at furthering the church's mission of leveraging resources for the gospel.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain communication channels to group prospects, participants, and leaders.
• Assist the Groups Minister and Young Adults Associate in administration, organization, scheduling, and logistics of ministry events and processes.
• Order and organize supplies for groups ministry, such as curriculum and coffee.
• Manage the church reservation system and input all groups-related ministry events.
• Answer phone calls, respond in a timely manner to all voicemail and email inquiries.
• Manage all financial processes for groups ministry.
• Attend Groups Ministry Team meetings.
• Attend monthly All Team meetings.
• Attend Groups Ministry events that have been agreed upon with the Groups Minister.
• Perform other related duties that may benefit the church and/or groups ministry as directed by the Groups Minister or Executive leadership.

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner via email and face to face.
• Detail-oriented and administratively gifted.
• Ability to multi-task, think ahead, and solve problems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to learn church database software and financial processes.
• A member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church or willing and able to become a member.
