About the position
The GS Applications Integrations Engineer is responsible for the infrastructure and software implementation of third-party solutions, ensuring effective configuration and integration. This role involves planning and delivering large-scale application and hardware upgrades, collaborating with internal and external partners to maintain application interfaces, and providing troubleshooting support for complex issues. The engineer will also design automated solutions for software upgrades and manage change and release processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the infrastructure and software implementation of third-party solutions.
- Plan and deliver large-scale, distributed application and hardware upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to create, test, and maintain application interfaces.
- Conduct performance and end-to-end integration testing with internal and external teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization in application performance.
- Provide application expertise and troubleshooting support for complex user issues.
- Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with server-based Operating Systems such as Windows 2016/2019 (Red Hat Linux/Unix a plus).
- 5+ years of experience with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Practical working experience with high-availability concepts (clusters, failover) and networking (latency, load balancing, firewall).
- Knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Expertise in at least one technology stack for designing, coding, testing, and delivering software.
- Experience with reporting, business intelligence, and visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, etc.).
- Experience with functional, user acceptance, and performance testing.
- Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise and understand business processes.
Nice-to-haves
- Working proficiency in developmental toolsets.
- Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with development tools such as Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, etc.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
