About the position

The Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Product Owner at Raytheon will lead engineering tasks in an iterative development environment, focusing on missile system development. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Integrated Product Team Lead and Chief Product Owner, to provide technical direction and manage Agile tasks across the engineering team. The position requires effective communication and leadership skills to ensure project success and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering tasks in an iterative development environment.
• Communicate and work closely with the Integrated Product Team Lead, Chief Product Owner, and other stakeholders.
• Decompose program capabilities into actionable features for the scrum team.
• Define backlog priorities based on program requirements and schedule.
• Work in an Agile or DevOps development environment with Systems, Integration, and Verification teams.
• Provide presentations to communicate status to program leadership and customers.
• Use Microsoft Office suite to produce documentation for program discussions and decisions.
• Manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in at least two of the following: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks), Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python or other object-oriented design languages.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
