About the position

The Assistant Bookkeeper at Kearns High School is responsible for providing essential bookkeeping services, including managing financial transactions, assisting in budget preparation, and maintaining financial records. This role requires strong math and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle various office responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Bookkeeper in providing bookkeeping services for the high school
  • Assist Bookkeeper in collecting and disbursing funds, accounting for them and monitoring budget expenditures
  • Assist Bookkeeper in recording and accounting for all monetary transactions within the school to include all accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist Bookkeeper in working on budget preparation and monitoring of approved budget
  • Assist Bookkeeper in preparing bank deposits and financial statements
  • Assist Bookkeeper in maintaining financial files
  • Assist other secretaries in their assignments and in general office responsibilities
  • Provide receptionist and other support services
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent math skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Skilled in the use of a computer for word processing and data entry
  • Ability to use a 10 key
  • Bookkeeping experience or training preferred
  • 18 months of job-related experience preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships
