About the position

GardaWorld is seeking a Security Communications Specialist to join our team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our Security Operations Center, handling a variety of tasks that are essential to maintaining safety and security for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include managing calls for service, processing emergency and non-emergency communications, and ensuring timely responses to incidents and alarms. You will be responsible for completing daily reports, conducting travel security reviews, and coordinating with security staff to support uniformed guard activities. Responsibilities

  • Handle calls for service; intake of media and emergency calls
  • Complete daily reporting; incident report input and approval
  • Conduct travel security reviews
  • Ensure timely and effective response to incidents, alarms, notifications, calls, and other activities related to the Security Operations Center
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, outside vendors, law enforcement, and the security field force via telephone, automated alarm monitoring and radio systems
  • Process and evaluate information received from all available sources, and respond with the appropriate communication and dispatch procedures
  • Coordinate with Security Operations Center staff to provide necessary documentation in support of uniformed guard force activity.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstrated high level of competency with advanced computer systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT and Security Systems professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Communications, or related field
  • Verifiable and successful security experience
  • Professional training and/or education in customer service, dispatch operations, or security and/or emergency services
  • Documented experience and competency in security software systems such as Access Control/ID systems, Alarm Receiving Automation software, Incident Management software, CCTV/Video Management systems, and Mass Notification systems
  • Experience in a modern 911 Call Center, Central Station Alarm Monitoring, or Dispatch Operation.
