Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for children.
• Direct activities designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
• Encourage development of children's individual interests and talents.
• Create a comfortable and relaxed environment where children feel welcome and secure.
• Assist in preparation of snacks.
• Supervise assigned children.
• Follow discipline policy.
• Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.
• Adhere to school district, state childcare licensing, and Great Start Readiness Program requirements.
• Participate in curriculum planning and implementation, child assessment, and parent engagement through home visits, conferences, and family events.
• Take anecdotal records and input data into the computer assessment system to develop instructional strategies for children.
• May be required to lift young children weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.

Requirements

• Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
