About the position
Amentum has a unique opportunity for an UNCLEARED Security Monitor to join our team in Springfield, VA. This position is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of our facility by monitoring and escorting uncleared personnel. The role involves providing both verbal and written reports regarding any pertinent safety, security, facility, or personnel issues that may arise during the monitoring process. The Security Monitor will be responsible for maintaining visual contact and proper line of sight with uncleared personnel at all times, ensuring a secure environment for all individuals present. The Security Monitor must respond professionally and courteously to all personnel, remaining alert and awake to provide appropriate security monitoring of escorted individuals. The position requires working around active construction areas, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The work environment includes industrial locations such as mechanical and electrical rooms, and the Security Monitor will be responsible for properly sanitizing areas before escorting uncleared personnel into designated work areas. Physical demands of the job include walking long distances, climbing stairs (including stepladders), and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. The Security Monitor will also be required to wear appropriate work attire, which may include a company-provided dress uniform. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, and the role requires impeccable attendance and the ability to work an annual Family Day event on a Saturday in September.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and escort uncleared persons at the facility.
- Provide verbal and written reports regarding safety, security, facility, or personnel issues/incidents.
- Maintain visual contact and proper line of sight with uncleared personnel.
- Respond professionally and courteously to all personnel.
- Remain alert and awake to provide appropriate security monitoring of escorted individuals.
- Work around active construction areas and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work in industrial locations such as mechanical and electrical rooms.

- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of security experience.
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to provide written and verbal incident reports to various customers.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess and maintain a fully adjudicated Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Impeccable attendance history.
