About the position

The Guest and Member Services Ambassador at the Phoenix Zoo plays a crucial role in providing exceptional front-line guest service, ensuring a positive experience for visitors while connecting them with the natural world. This seasonal position involves various responsibilities, including ticket sales, guest assistance, and maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the zoo.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service to zoo guests and employees by maintaining a friendly, helpful, positive, and professional attitude.
• Sell ZooLights and general admission tickets, memberships, and validate tickets.
• Assist with stroller and wheelchair rentals and provide general zoo information.
• Operate computers and registers to sell admission and retail venue tickets.
• Monitor the public to ensure the safety of guests and animals, including crowd control and communication with park rangers.
• Greet and provide directional information to guests and members, responding to inquiries with accurate information.
• Educate guests on safety guidelines and proper use of rental equipment and rides.
• Wash and maintain the integrity of rental fleet and carousel animals, reporting any issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Guest service experience preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with guests of all ages.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Experience working with computers and familiarity with Gateway Galaxy POS and/or The Raiser's Edge ticketing/scanning systems.
