About the position

The Guest Service Agent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests at the hotel. This role involves greeting and registering guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a pleasant stay by addressing guest inquiries and needs. The agent plays a crucial role in maximizing room revenue and occupancy while maintaining high standards of service and hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register guests upon arrival.
  • Manage and modify reservations as needed.
  • Act as hotel operator and perform concierge duties.
  • Provide attentive and courteous service to guests throughout their stay.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously.
  • Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard.
  • Answer guest inquiries regarding hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Deliver guest items such as luggage and messages as requested.
  • Comply with hotel policies and standards to ensure safe operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for handling financial information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Previous hotel experience of at least 1 year.
