About the position
The Guest Service Associate/Cashier at Global Partners LP is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing cash transactions and maintaining store cleanliness and appearance. This role is essential in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers and involves various tasks including stocking, cleaning, and assisting with inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
- Operate the cash register and manage cash accountability, including lottery tickets and cash cards.
- Complete shift reports accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including windows, floors, bathrooms, and trash containers.
- Stock shelves and coolers with products.
- Sweep and mop floors as needed.
- Conduct gasoline tank inventory using stick readings.
- Check in products delivered from vendors.
- Perform yard maintenance tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and painting.
- Assist with light equipment maintenance including pumps and lighting.
- Engage in merchandising activities to promote products.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
- Communicate effectively with associates and guests.
- Accurately count, read, and write to complete required paperwork.
Requirements
- Must wear the required store uniform.
- Availability for weekend, evening shifts, and holidays is necessary.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Attendance at mandatory meetings (e.g., T.A.M., sexual harassment) is required.
- Ability to bend, reach, and lift weights ranging from 1 to 15 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and bend below the waist.
- Must be able to access all areas of the store freely and move quickly around the store.
