About the position

The Guest Service Representative/Night Auditor at Motel 6 is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and ensuring a high level of customer service. This role requires effective communication with guests and coordination with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations during the night shift.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department.
  • Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary.
  • Knows cancellation procedures and completes daily check list.
  • Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
  • Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department.
  • Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.
  • Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and promote other services of the hotel.
  • Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
  • Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions.
  • Maintains customers' privacy and a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in front desk operations and guest services.
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette and cash handling.
  • Hotel experience is preferred.
