About the position

The Guest Services Ambassador position at Parkland Health and Hospital System is a vital role focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals entering the facility. This position is responsible for screening staff, patients, vendors, and visitors at various screening stations to ensure compliance with health guidelines, including the mandatory wearing of masks. The Ambassador will take temperatures, ask screening questions, and provide visitors with wristbands or stickers to indicate successful screening. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the screening stations, ensuring they are stocked with personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand sanitizers, and keeping the environment clean and welcoming. The Guest Services Ambassador will also engage with guests, including patients, employees, and visitors, to provide information and assistance related to the Parkland campus. This proactive interaction is aimed at promoting a positive guest experience and supporting safety initiatives. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to represent Parkland positively while effectively screening individuals. The Ambassador will also coordinate with supervisors to report any non-compliance and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring a smooth operation at the entrance of the facility. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Ambassador will assist guests with wayfinding needs, providing directions to various buildings on campus and escorting or transporting patients to outpatient clinics. Staying updated on the latest entrance screening protocols and maintaining knowledge of relevant rules and regulations is essential for this role. The Guest Services Ambassador will also be expected to identify ways to improve work processes and enhance customer satisfaction, contributing to the overall goals of the department and Parkland Health.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and screens all staff, visitors, and vendors prior to allowing entry per guidelines established by leadership.
  • Provides masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensures all persons entering are wearing masks per the established procedure.
  • Maintains ample screening supplies, PPEs, masks, and hand sanitizers at the entrances and places orders for additional supplies as needed.
  • Disinfects high touch points and maintains a clean and welcoming environment at the assigned station and the front entrance, including front lobby areas.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with staff in all areas of the hospital to facilitate effective communication.
  • Coordinates with supervisors to report non-compliance and escalates issues in a timely manner through the proper channels.
  • Assists guests with wayfinding needs, providing walking directions to different buildings on campus, and escorting or transporting patients to outpatient clinics.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments in entrance screening protocols by reading emails from the management team and attending trainings/meetings.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Guest Experience Department and entrance screening.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in a healthcare or customer service environment preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Must have a current Heart saver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire from an accredited organization.
