About the position
The Guest Services Attendant serves as a frontline, part-time position responsible for assisting visitors on a day-to-day basis to ensure an enjoyable visit. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Admissions: operates computerized point-of-sale, handling revenue for ticketing and membership sales, collecting data, processing transactions, answers phones. Gift Shop: staffs the gift shop including sales, stocking, straightening, cleaning and maintaining the overall appearance. Attractions & Guest Experience: staffs the Paddleboat rentals, Carousel rides, Giraffe feedings, Budgie Aviary & feedings, Penguin feedings, Contact Zoo, and Tram tours. Birthday Host: serves as host for birthday parties including set up, tear down and a tour and conducts animal encounters. Facility Rentals & Special Events: assists with set up and tear down. Janitorial: general cleaning and seeing that the parks maintains an overall welcoming appearance, free of trash & litter.
Responsibilities
- Operate computerized point-of-sale for admissions and ticketing

- Staff attractions including Paddleboat rentals, Carousel rides, and animal feedings
- Serve as host for birthday parties including setup and teardown
- Conduct animal encounters during birthday parties
- Assist with facility rentals and special events setup and teardown
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the park's appearance
Requirements
- Good communication skills
- Friendly demeanor
- Neat appearance
- Ability to deal directly with the public in a positive manner
- Ability to work outside in heat and adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Computer and retail experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license is recommended
- Flexible work schedule
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings for special events

- Experience in training new employees
- Supervisory experience with volunteers
