About the position

The Guest Services Attendant position is a summer role focused on providing excellent service to guests at Silver Cliff Ranch. The role involves lifeguarding, maintaining cleanliness and safety of amenities, managing gift and snack shops, and ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. The position requires teamwork, customer service skills, and the ability to handle various responsibilities efficiently during the summer season.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard between two and four hours per day at the pool for groups with children and youth.
• Ensure bathhouses and pool deck are safe and clean with daily checks.
• Assist in keeping the amenities clean throughout the summer.
• Open up, manage, and close the gift and snack shops as requested by groups.
• Keep the gift shop, snack shop, and game rooms well-supplied, clean, and organized.
• Work as a team to turn around the campus efficiently and thoroughly, cleaning up cabins/lodges and gathering spaces after groups leave.
• Complete daily campus checks to ensure grounds are safe and free of hazards.
• Be on call for guest needs in the evening.
• Complete daily groundskeeping tasks and trash removal from gathering spaces.
• Execute other duties assigned by the Deputy Executive Director.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lifeguard certification or willingness to become certified as a lifeguard required.
• Previous hospitality, retail, or service experience preferred.
• Ability to work on a team and relate well with others.
• Self-starter and organizer.
• Ability to accept guidance, direction, and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and proper use of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards.
• Ability to provide First Aid and assist guests in an emergency once certified.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
• Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
• Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service and hospitality.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
• Computer literacy to meet the responsibilities of the position.
