About the position

The Guest Services Representative (GSR) position is focused on providing exceptional service to guests, ensuring a positive experience during their stay. The GSR is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and maintaining front office operations in accordance with company standards. This role also involves completing daily paperwork, ensuring safety and security protocols, and assisting with various tasks to maintain hotel cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests.
  • Assist guests at all times and respond to requests with diligent follow-through.
  • Process reservations, registration, payment, and departures according to company guidelines.
  • Handle collection efforts of all in-house balances and account for cash, check, credit card, and city ledger accounts.
  • Set up, maintain, and take down breakfast when required, ensuring a clean work area behind the front desk and in guest commons.
  • Sell the value of ESA to inquiries and strive to convert them into reservations.
  • Collect relevant guest information and identify potential sales leads.
  • Conduct periodic tours of the property to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Provide reasonable accommodations in response to guest requests whenever possible.
  • Maintain overall hotel cleanliness and assist with cleaning areas as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English proficiently.
  • Proficient in operating property management system technology.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and reports.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service or hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and front desk procedures.
