About the position
The Guest Teacher position for the 2024-2025 school year is designed for certified substitutes who will enable students to continue their education in the absence of a regular teacher. This role involves managing classroom behavior, grading assignments, and ensuring that educational activities proceed smoothly. The position is non-exempt and operates on an as-needed basis throughout the school year, from August to May.
Responsibilities
- Report to the school office following the scheduled time in Absence Management.
- Fill out necessary forms and obtain special instructions from the regular teacher.
- Check the regular teacher's mailbox for special bulletins and materials.
- Oversee pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods as assigned.
- Grade all papers completed during the day and record results appropriately.
- Record absences as per the building's procedures.
- Stop in the school office at the end of the day to receive instructions for future assignments and complete required personnel forms.
Requirements
- Valid Colorado Teaching License or 1, 3, or 5 year Substitute Authorization.
- Experience in teaching.
