Additionally, the moderator must stay informed of any door or pricing changes that might affect the venue and services. It is important to note that this is a non-tip receiving position, meaning the Guestlist Moderator is not allowed to accept any form of money from guests. Essential functions of the position include remaining alert for any suspicious persons or activities, reacting professionally and rationally in emergency and pressure situations, and identifying intoxicated, disorderly, or insubordinate guests to report them to security. The moderator must communicate professionally with all management from the Host Hotel/Casino and assist all guests with entry to the venue. Maintaining professionalism in the workplace and with co-workers and patrons is vital, as is being attentive to all company-related events and upcoming venue changes. Furthermore, the moderator must inform management of any complaints, comments, or incidents, perform all prior arrangements to be ready to start on time, and complete all necessary duties by the end of the shift. Accurately assessing the number of guests in a group, crossing off names on the guest list, and handing out tickets accordingly are also key responsibilities.
