At the dawn of a new space age, Lockheed Martin is a pioneer, partner, innovator, and builder. Our amazing people are on a mission to make a difference in the world, and every single day we use our unique skills and experiences to craft, design, and build solutions to some of the world's hardest engineering problems. This position is for a Hardware Component Engineer within the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Hardware Group, which is composed of enthusiastic and talented individuals overseeing the design and production of hardware sensors and actuators for GNC subsystems, including missiles and spacecraft. The role is specifically for a candidate who is eager to learn and grow within the NGI program, with the potential to support other programs in the future. The work will be commensurate with the candidate's ability to learn and take on more responsibilities, focusing on areas such as IMU/gyros, star trackers, GPSRs, sun sensors, and MTRs, while also developing knowledge in other product areas. The candidate will be involved in various critical processes, including Material Review Boards, Failure Review Boards, Critical Design Reviews, and Qualification Review Boards. They will also oversee the design and testing of hardware throughout the Enterprise. A willingness to obtain a Secret clearance is required, as this position necessitates a government security clearance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with an interest in hardware products and GNC systems. Experience in hardware development and oversight of subcontractors is also essential, as is a strong desire to learn about subcontractor hardware development, including build, test, and integration.
