About the position
Acuren Inspection, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Services Guided Wave Technician- UT to support regional operations in Smithville, MO. This full-time position involves conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure quality and detect defects in various industrial applications. The technician will be responsible for setting up and calibrating testing equipment, interpreting results, and reporting findings while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- May instruct and supervise others
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Level II Guided Wave UT
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Guided Wave Ultrasonics Level II Technician utilizing Guided Ultrasonic Ltd. equipment (G3/G4/G4m)
- Must have current GULT Level 2 ‘XB' endorsement
- Additional GULT Level 2 ‘SP', ‘AA' or ‘PM' endorsements are a plus
- Additional UT certifications (UTSW, PAUT, ToFD) preferred
- Must be able to be certified to ASNT TC-1A standards and complete Acuren NDT certification testing requirements
- Experience with GUL Wavemaker equipment and WavePro Software required
- Minimum of Current Level 2: XB Certification from GUL required
- gPIMS Monitoring experience a benefit, but not a requirement
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
- Experience in report writing

- gPIMS Monitoring experience
