About the position

The SPED Support Clerk position is designed to assist the Special Education Department at Boston Public Schools by ensuring compliance with Special Education laws and regulations. This role involves supporting the Special Education Team through various administrative tasks, including managing student records and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, maintain, track, copy, and transfer student records as necessary.
  • Perform limited data entry and retrieval of information from the SEIMS system as requested by the Team Facilitator.
  • Assist with obtaining parent/guardian signatures.
  • Help schedule Team meetings and maintain the ETF calendar.
  • Support the ETF in adhering to regulatory requirements as requested by the ETF and/or Supervisor.
  • Maintain office supplies and ensure confidentiality of student records and information.
  • Facilitate the work of the ETF and perform related duties as requested by the Special Education Compliance Department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, email, and internet skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support multiple schools on a weekly basis as directed by the Special Education Compliance Department.
