About the position

The Guitar Instructor at Clayton County Public Schools is responsible for delivering effective instrumental music education to high school students. This role involves teaching all aspects of guitar, organizing band activities, conducting auditions, programming, and rehearsing music for performances throughout the school year.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the student body and encourage participation in band activities.
• Plan, rehearse, and direct musical experiences for the school with scheduled performances throughout the year.
• Oversee scheduling and arrangements for rehearsals and concerts.
• Order all supplies and materials necessary for band-related activities in accordance with established procedures and budget allocations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• One (1) year teaching experience preferred.
• Certification in Music (P-12) through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required.
