About the position

The YMCA of Memphis & The Mid-South is seeking a passionate and energetic Gymnastics Coach to lead classes for youth and adults in a safe and inclusive environment. This role focuses on fostering personal growth, confidence, and a love for gymnastics while promoting the YMCA's values of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging and educational gymnastics classes for various age groups and skill levels.
• Develop dynamic lesson plans tailored to different skill levels and age groups.
• Foster strong relationships with participants and their families, creating a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Ensure participant safety through proper supervision and daily equipment checks.
• Track class attendance and maintain accurate records to support participant retention and growth.
• Communicate participant progress with parents/guardians regularly.
• Uphold YMCA policies and values in all interactions and programming.
• Participate in staff meetings, YMCA events, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (college coursework preferred).
• Minimum age of 18.
• At least 12 months of gymnastics experience (teaching experience preferred).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for gymnastics, youth development, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
