About the position
The Gymnastics Coach at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA is responsible for providing support and encouragement to students in learning gymnastics through specific progressive or competitive programs. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to YMCA standards while fostering a positive and enjoyable environment for participants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct YMCA program instruction in accordance with YMCA program standards.
- Incorporate character development objectives into the program to reinforce YMCA values.
- Ensure adherence to YMCA progressive or competitive standards and quality.
- Ensure that all participants have exited the facility and that the facility is left clean and orderly.
- Provide a safe environment for members and participants to learn YMCA programs.
- Evaluate program skills and complete progress reports for each session.
- Communicate YMCA rules and ensure accessibility and identification as a coach.
- Participate as part of the YMCA staff team to provide a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Arrive on time and in accordance with the schedule.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Take attendance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- Excellent knowledge of instructing in the program area.
- Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
