About the position

The Habilitation Services Project Coordinator-ICF Monitor position at the Arizona Department of Economic Security involves conducting compliance monitoring for Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) serving individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with management and vendors to address compliance issues. This position is ideal for individuals committed to service and community, offering the potential for remote work within Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site monitoring visits to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements for ICFs, including life safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Prepare for reviews/inspections by reviewing past reports, incidents, and complaints.
  • Meet with management to explain non-compliance issues.
  • Write reports detailing the results of monitoring visits and request corrective action plans for violations.
  • Evaluate other programs by conducting on-site monitoring visits using contractual and programmatic requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ICF/ID Federal and State requirements and monitoring ICF/ID facilities.
  • Understanding of developmental disabilities rules, regulations, and programmatic requirements.
  • Familiarity with contract expectations for division services.
  • Skills in oral and written communication and documentation.
  • Ability to negotiate and provide technical assistance to Division staff and Qualified Vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Up to two years of experience working within the Division of Developmental Disabilities or comparable experience.
  • Experience in supervising community residential settings, quality assurance, compliance officer roles, case management, or behavioral health fields.
  • Medical terminology experience.
