About the position

The Habilitation Services Project Coordinator at the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations for Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Providers. This entry-level position involves conducting compliance audits, issuing certifications, and providing technical assistance to service providers. The coordinator will work closely with applicants and certified service providers to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, ultimately contributing to the mission of strengthening individuals, families, and communities in Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance audits and provide technical assistance to maintain compliance.
  • Drive an automobile throughout the state to audit certification requirements.
  • Ensure applicants and certified service providers are in compliance with regulations.
  • Issue certificates and identify violations.
  • Provide consultation and correction of certification issues.
  • Assist applicants and certified service providers with AHCCCS provider registration and problem-solving.
  • Interpret regulatory issues in response to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Compose and produce correspondence, including drafts of notices of violation.
  • Verify and maintain regulatory data utilizing various automation systems.
  • Track compliance time frames and priority work using automated systems.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of regulatory processes and functions.
  • Understanding of federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Proficiency in electronic records management and automation systems.
  • Strong customer service principles.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to research and resolve problems.
  • Skills in data analysis, evaluation, and interpretation.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
