About the position
The Salon Technician is responsible for providing professional salon services related to hair, nails, and skin care. This role emphasizes creativity, motivation, and a passion for the hair industry, with a focus on continuous education and client satisfaction. The position is nonexempt and reports to the Salon Manager or Desk Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional salon services for hair, nails, and skin care.
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients promptly upon their arrival at the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting new clients and maintaining customer records.
- Deliver quality service through technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products.
- Address customer service issues and complaints professionally.
- Maintain effective communication with salon management regarding needs and issues.
- Ensure personal work area and salon comply with State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping duties, including cleaning and stocking.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Adhere to salon attendance and dress code guidelines.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid and current board certified license.
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry preferred.
- Ability to use computer keyboard and standard telephone.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
