About the position

Jefferson Lab's Hall A/C is looking for a Staff Scientist who will assume a leading role in the construction and/or operation of multiple Hall subsystems to support an exciting and diverse physics program. Hall A is currently running the Super BigBite Spectrometer (SBS) suite of experiments, while preparing for the future MOLLER and SoLID projects. A vigorous scientific program is foreseen for Hall C using the HMS and SHMS spectrometers, as well as new equipment such as the Neutral Particle Spectrometer. The physics program of the Halls includes studies of form factors, high-resolution hypernuclear spectroscopy, generalized and transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions of the nucleon, detailed measurements of nucleon valence quark structure at large x, and studies of fundamental properties of atomic nuclei.
