About the position
The Hall Monitor position at Ambridge Area School District is responsible for ensuring the safety and management of students within school facilities. This role involves monitoring student interactions, maintaining discipline, and promoting a positive atmosphere throughout the school. The Hall Monitor will respond to student inquiries, assist in conflict resolution, and communicate effectively with administrators and staff.
Responsibilities
- Monitors student movement and interactions within hallways, classrooms, auditorium, gender-specific locker rooms, and restrooms.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Maintains discipline and a safe environment for students at all times.
- Assists students with managing behaviors and resolving conflicts.
- Reports serious student issues to administrators immediately.
- Communicates frequently with administrators regarding status, issues, and needs.
- Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, and community.
- Completes appropriate communication log(s) and required paperwork.
- Fulfills other duties and tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum two years of experience in a related field
- Act 34/151/114/126/168 Clearances/Certifications required
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Knowledge of educational protocol and procedures
- Ability to communicate electronically
- Knowledge of K-12 Education and ability to manage and organize resources
- Ability to learn new technological resources and tools with minimal training
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Demonstrate competency with email and general forms of electronic communication
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and utilize time and resources properly
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
