Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors students in the hallways before, during, and after the school day.
• Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students to monitor behavior while in the hallways.
• Assists and monitors the locking and unlocking of doors.
• Reports conflicts between students to the appropriate administrator when necessary.
• Writes disciplinary referrals and involves the school administrator when necessary.
• Assists with school drills such as fire, tornado, and lockdowns.
• Monitors walkie-talkie for requests of information from staff members.
• Monitors locker clean out.
• Collects and delivers various school-related information such as passes and tardies.
• Communicates with community, staff, and students to answer questions and disseminate information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations is required.
• Good communication skills are required.
• Ability to remain calm during medical emergencies is required.
• Ability to be caring, understanding, and friendly towards students is required.
• Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook is required.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and community is required.
• Ability to write simple routine reports is required.
