About the position

The Assistant Residential Manager (ARM) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by assisting in the implementation of personalized care plans and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position involves coordinating medical appointments, supervising direct support staff, and providing direct support services as needed, all while promoting a professional and caring environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of the Life Plan and Staff Action Plan for individuals supported.
• Ensure medical needs are met by coordinating appointments and follow-ups.
• Complete accurate paperwork to maintain compliance with OPWDD requirements and agency policies.
• Document residential habilitation services in accordance with agency and OPWDD requirements.
• Support the Residential Manager in hiring, training, and evaluating direct support staff.
• Schedule direct support staff to meet the needs of individuals supported.
• Become certified in medical administration and maintain certification annually.
• Provide direct support services as needed.
• Coordinate recreational activities and transportation for individuals.
• Ensure nutritional needs of individuals are met.
• Participate in Corporate Compliance and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience with individuals with I/DD.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License with a safe driving record per agency policy.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a supervisory role within a residential setting.
• Certification in medical administration.
