About the position

The GIS HANA Database Administrator will oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of HANA databases, with a focus on managing GIS data. This role is crucial for optimizing spatial databases to support geospatial applications, requiring a blend of technical expertise in database management and a strong understanding of GIS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain HANA databases.
• Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency.
• Manage and maintain GIS data within the HANA environment.
• Implement and manage database security measures.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Collaborate with GIS developers and analysts to support application development.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations and procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest HANA and GIS technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a HANA Database Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of GIS concepts and spatial data management.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management tools.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with database security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SAP HANA administration.
• Knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.
• Certification in database administration or GIS.
