About the position

If you answered yes to those questions, then we invite you to join our team as a Handyman/Handywoman/Maintenance Technician and help us enrich the lives of our residents and team members. We are currently seeking a qualified Level 2 Maintenance Technician/Handyman/Handywoman for Meadows Mobile Home Park located at 1100 Estates Lane Melbourne, FL 32934. This position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance and aesthetic appeal of the community. You will be responsible for overseeing the curb appeal and maintenance of the community, ensuring it meets Riverstone Communities' standards. This includes regular groundskeeping tasks such as lawn mowing, planting, and weeding, as well as performing residential repairs, installing siding and skirting, and completing home cleanouts as necessary. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be tasked with diagnosing and repairing residential water and sewer leaks, as well as faucets and toilets. You will also need to read water meters if applicable to your property. The role requires the capability to complete day-to-day duties with minimal supervision and to adhere to all safety laws and regulations. Regular inventory checks on equipment and supplies will also be part of your duties, and you will work with your manager to help coordinate food banks and resident events to support our mission. This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, enjoys working outdoors, and has a passion for maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

  • Attend daily morning staff meetings to communicate goals and objectives
  • Oversee the curb appeal and maintenance of the community and ensure it meets Riverstone Communities' standards
  • Pick up trash around the community
  • Perform regular groundskeeping tasks such as lawn mowing, planting, and weeding
  • Conduct residential repairs, including installing siding and skirting
  • Complete home cleanouts as necessary
  • Perform maintenance on equipment and tools within safety guidelines
  • Diagnose and repair residential water/sewer leaks, faucets, and toilets
  • Read water meters if applicable to the property
  • Complete day-to-day duties with minimal supervision
  • Complete maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Adhere to all safety laws and regulations
  • Conduct regular inventory checks on equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate food banks and resident events with your manager

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in multi-family housing or commercial property maintenance
  • 1-2 years of experience in groundskeeping, general labor, and residential rehabs
  • Mechanical and maintenance skills
  • Ability to be very active - walking, bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet usage
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license
  • Basic residential plumbing and electrical skills
  • Basic residential painting skills (interior and exterior)
  • Roofing and carpentry repair skills
  • Mechanical skills, such as replacing door locks and handles
