About the position
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team in Garland, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of mechanical knowledge and practical skills to perform various maintenance and repair tasks. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Handy Man will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify issues requiring attention.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with management on production planning and supply chain needs related to facility upkeep.
- Assist in the development of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve overall performance.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and inventory levels for necessary supplies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance or maintenance person services with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot various issues effectively.
- Experience in plant management or operations management is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license may be required for travel between job sites.
