About the position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team in Garland, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of mechanical knowledge and practical skills to perform various maintenance and repair tasks. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Handy Man will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
• Conduct inspections of facilities to identify issues requiring attention.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in maintenance operations.
• Collaborate with management on production planning and supply chain needs related to facility upkeep.
• Assist in the development of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve overall performance.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and inventory levels for necessary supplies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in maintenance or maintenance person services with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement practices.
• Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot various issues effectively.
• Experience in plant management or operations management is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• A valid driver's license may be required for travel between job sites.
