About the position

The Production Manager at Happy Fruit California is responsible for overseeing the production team and ensuring that all manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of the products while also adhering to safety and health standards. The Production Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a key role in the operational success of the organization. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with both production staff and upper management. In this role, the Production Manager will be tasked with creating production schedules based on sales forecasts and current inventory levels. They will motivate and support the production staff, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and guidance to perform their duties effectively. The manager will also be responsible for monitoring production processes to identify and resolve any issues that may arise, thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity. Additionally, the Production Manager will oversee quality control procedures, implementing new processes as needed to enhance product quality. They will evaluate machine resources to ensure that production goals are met while balancing productivity with cost reduction. The role also involves training new employees and hiring additional staff as necessary to meet production demands. Overall, the Production Manager will be instrumental in driving the success of the production team and ensuring that all operations align with the company's goals and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that manufacturing equipment and tools function properly and increase an organization's efficiency.
  • Creating production schedules based on sales analysis and current inventory.
  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff.
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to maintain an accident-free organization.
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
  • Creating and filling out reporting as needed.
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
  • Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team.
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff.
  • Monitoring production to resolve issues.
  • Overseeing quality control procedures and implementing new procedures as needed.
  • Training employees and hiring as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as production director.
  • Deep knowledge of production management.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
  • Outstanding communication ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry for at least 3 years (Preferred).
  • Management experience for at least 3 years (Preferred).
