About the position

This position will be supporting the Electronic Warfare Division of the Agile Combat Support Directorate located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The applicant shall provide hardware and software engineering support for embedded software, software interfaces, cryptographic systems, and interoperability in sensor, weapon, host platform, and communications and command and control systems. This includes software analysis, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) interfacing and performance analysis, software architecture review, software development processes, configuration management processes, tools assessment, and software test systems and capabilities. The applicant shall have knowledge of software engineering in support of the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems. The applicant shall assist in the application of an understanding of systems acquisition, systems and subsystems level hardware and software integration, systems requirements analysis and allocation, computer systems architecture, and systems and subsystems testing and evaluation. Additionally, the applicant shall assist in reviewing, developing, and updating applicable program documentation for software engineering requirements. The applicant shall support the development of the software development strategy and software development plan (SDP). Furthermore, the applicant shall assist in the application of an understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems and/or airborne or related ground systems avionics Operational Flight Program capabilities to support the core engineering tasks as they relate to software engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware and software engineering support for embedded software and software interfaces.
  • Conduct software analysis and performance analysis for COTS and GOTS.
  • Review software architecture and development processes.
  • Assist in configuration management processes and tools assessment.
  • Support software test systems and capabilities.
  • Assist in systems acquisition and hardware/software integration.
  • Conduct systems requirements analysis and allocation.
  • Review and update program documentation for software engineering requirements.
  • Support the development of the software development strategy and software development plan (SDP).
  • Apply knowledge of aeronautical vehicle systems and avionics capabilities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with at least 10 years of experience in the respective field.
