About the position

The Hardware Architect position at Micron Technology focuses on board-level system design, playing a crucial role in the development of innovative electronic products and systems for CXL and DIMM modules. The architect will lead the board-level design process, ensuring the successful integration of hardware components and subsystems while collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the board-level design process, collaborating with multi-functional teams including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and firmware engineers.
  • Define the system architecture and design specifications for sophisticated electronic systems.
  • Develop schematic designs and oversee the placement and routing of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analysis to optimize system performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to select appropriate components and ensure design compliance.
  • Perform detailed hardware design analysis, such as signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis, to ensure robust and reliable operation.
  • Review and provide feedback on PCB layouts, ensuring alignment to design guidelines and standard methodologies.
  • Conduct design reviews and participate in multi-functional team meetings to drive projects forward and resolve technical challenges.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in board-level design, hardware components, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation and improve product performance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, encouraging a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 12 Years of proven experience as a Hardware Architect or a similar role, with a focus on board-level design.
  • Strong proficiency in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD) and PCB layout tools (e.g., Allegro, PADS).
  • In-depth knowledge of board-level design principles, including high-speed digital design, analog design, and mixed-signal design.
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis tools (e.g., Hyperlynx, CST Studio Suite) and simulation software (e.g., SPICE).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC standards, EMC/EMI compliance, and safety certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to solve complex hardware issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA-based designs is a plus.
  • A track record of successful product development projects and the ability to deliver high-quality designs within schedule and budget constraints.
