About the position

The Hardware Automation Tester will be responsible for firmware testing at a major chemical client, supporting a long-term project alongside a team of four other QA professionals. This role involves testing embedded firmware and systems connected to circuit boards, requiring on-site presence five days a week due to the specialized equipment needed for the job.

Responsibilities

• Conduct firmware testing for embedded systems connected to circuit boards.
• Collaborate with a team of QAs on a major project.
• Perform white-box testing and ensure quality assurance of firmware.
• Work independently while seeking clarification on complex issues.
• Utilize programming skills in C++ and Python for automated testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of automated testing experience within firmware/hardware (Non-Selenium).
• Extensive experience programming in C++ and Python.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments, specifically with Linux Command Line.
• 2+ years of experience developing/testing embedded software applications.
• Familiarity with Gerkin/Jenkins/Cucumber.
• Testing experience in ARM based microcontrollers, such as ST Micro, NXP, or Silicon Labs EFM.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
