The Hardware/Chemistry Test Engineer II is responsible for evaluating and testing products from the initial concept to post-production in the Product Development stage. The main objective is to evaluate and test products to meet specific specifications and standards. In this role, you will test, validate, and compare system-level interfaces to ensure performance meets specifications. You will identify and analyze questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in product performance. Additionally, you will build new test procedures and cases for new functionality, recommend program improvements or revisions as necessary, and establish benchmarks for product performance. You will assist manufacturing in developing FOQ protocols and train staff, review and refine product documentation, install, maintain, and use testing software programs, and respond to technical support inquiries. You will also build, track, align, and communicate test plans, results, and analysis, being accountable for the thoroughness and quality of your test results.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a relevant field or two years equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a relevant field, or equivalent experience and/or training will be considered.
  • Academic training in chemistry and chemical engineering is desirable.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Applications, analytical instrument test methodology development, and automation.
  • Ability to follow specific test protocols and instructions.
  • Collaborate with other members of Test Engineering.
  • Demonstrate failure and error conditions to Development Engineers.
  • Define problems, collect data, and report valid conclusions.
  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies.
