About the position

The position involves leveraging knowledge of industrial product regulations to ensure compliance with relevant standards. The role requires translating guidelines into engineering requirements, reviewing product designs, and managing compliance testing and certification processes. It also includes hands-on involvement in product modifications to address safety and compliance issues, as well as collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Leverage knowledge of industrial product regulations to identify relevant standards and translate guidelines into engineering requirements.
• Review product designs for compliance with regulations.
• Define testing requirements and assess risk associated with product designs.
• Manage design documents and oversee test lab activities.
• Communicate project status across engineering, regulatory agencies, sales partners, manufacturing, and senior leadership.
• Engage in hands-on product solution/modification to mitigate EMC/Safety/Other problems found during verification and reviews.
• Prepare sample setups for electronic and firmware components.
• Guide new products through compliance assessments, product testing, and certification processes.
• Maintain compliance of released products and update certifications as regulations change.
• Prepare regulatory documents and submit them to agencies and third-party service providers.
• Partner with the Regulatory Compliance Manager to enhance compliance processes and systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field of study.
• Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Three years of experience in consumer or industrial electronics product familiarity.
• Hands-on experience with electronics, firmware, or software.
• Familiarity with international hardware standards including those for Safety.
• Experience working with international manufacturing partners.
• Familiarity with the hardware safety certification process.
• Experience working with compliance test labs and certification bodies.
