About the position

The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, validation, and support of hardware products throughout their lifecycle. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery to market, as well as leading the electrical engineering team in the design and validation processes. The position requires hands-on involvement in prototype testing and debugging, as well as international travel to manufacturing sites for product validation and support.

Responsibilities

  • Design future products by owning architecture selection, electrical design, and validation.
  • Lead the electrical engineering team to develop products including RF, sensors, and other specialists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, product design, industrial design, program management, operations, finance) to deliver successful products to market.
  • Conduct functional verification, signal characterization, power modeling/test, and system coexistence testing for designs.
  • Set factory test requirements and assist in software bring-up for mass production.
  • Travel on-site to manufacturers to ensure successful design implementation and testing.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners for future product designs.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
  • 1-4 years of experience for junior HW design engineer or 5+ years for senior HW design engineer.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, including high-speed digital and/or analog systems design.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
  • Experience with embedded systems, processor selection, and various communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Knowledge in analog design, sensor design, low power design, audio acoustics, and various RF technologies.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Cadence OrCAD & Allegro.
  • Hands-on lab experience including soldering, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with power design topologies.
  • Experience with audio/acoustic design.
