About the position

The Hardware Design Engineer role focuses on the design, validation, and characterization of high-performance mixed-signal ASICs using advanced CMOS technology. As part of the Silicon Team, the engineer will contribute to the development of innovative consumer electronic devices and cloud computing solutions, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product excellence.

Responsibilities

• Bring up, validate, and characterize high-speed D2D and SERDES blocks in both new and existing silicon chips.
• Develop test methods to evaluate the performance and operating margins of high-speed serial interfaces under various conditions.
• Collaborate with design teams to enhance testability and define test infrastructure logic.
• Write software routines in Python or C/C++ to validate D2D and SERDES IPs and support driver integration with software teams.
• Analyze test results to generate insights and recommendations, documenting findings in comprehensive reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience working with D2D and SERDES platforms.
• Proficient knowledge of high-speed D2D and SERDES architectures (e.g., NRZ, PAM4) and protocols.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and BERTs.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SERDES calibration and understanding of signal integrity.
• Familiarity with high-speed protocols like UCIe, Ethernet, and PCIe.
• Ability to analyze boundary conditions and produce detailed test reports.
